The Enhanced Essentials-collection contains 40 of Final Cut Pro's most valuable every-day video filter plugins that were completely redeveloped and greatly enhanced in quality, render speed and functionality.

Perfect Borders
This feature is included in many of the Enhanced Essentials-collection plugins. Final Cut Pro's and Final Cut Express's counterparts give you edgy borders. The Enhanced Essentials-collection plugins will always render perfectly antialiased smooth borders.

Cut black borders
Black video borders are annoying and need to be cut. This is why all plugins of the Enhanced Essentials-collection that profit from a border cutting feature include a prefect border cutting solution.

More Points
The Enhanced Essentials-collection also includes a 12 pt and a 16pt garbage matte.

Blur: Channel

This filter allows you to blur each channel (alpha, red, green and blue) of your videoclip separately.

In addition you can cut off unwanted pixels from the border of the clip. This is most useful if your clip has a black border, which would also be blurred and would create a darker area at the borders of the clip.

Blur: Motion

Motion Blur creates the impression as if your video is moving with high speeds.

The borders can also be cut off with this filter to avoid unwanted black borders.

Blur: Zoom

With Zoom Blur you can create the impression of a motion blur while zooming your camera.

The borders can also be cut off with this filter to avoid unwanted black borders.

Color Corrector: Desaturate Highs/Lows

This plugin desaturates a clip within the bright and dark areas. This is most useful to avoid clipping of your colors. The area that will be desaturated is shown in a small graphic within the canvas.

Border: Bevel

Bevel Border also creates a border around your clip. But this border can be illuminated from different angles. The rendered quality of the border is significantly enhanced compared to the original Bevel Border plugin.

Channel: Color Invert

With Channel Invert you can invert each channel separately by a definable amount. The popup to the right shows which channels and channel-combinations are possible.

In addition you can change the opacity of the whole chip.

Image: Brightness and Contrast (Bezier)

Brightness and Contrast provides you with a high quality brightness and contrast manipulation. Real bezier calculations for the contrast slider create perfect results without unwanted video level clipping.

An additional graph within the canvas shows the current manipulation curve.

Image: Gamma Correction

Gamma Correction provides you with ability to edit the gamma values of your clip. But this filter does even more: You can edit the gamma curve separately of the lower and upper brightness areas. A manipulation graph will be shown within the canvas in order to have full control over the gamma change.

Image: Sepia

With Sepia you can add a customizable sepia tint to you video clip. Amount controls the strength of the tint process. With Highlight you can manipulate the gamma curve of the tint.

Style: Emboss

Emboss is normally used to add depth to plain text. But you can also use this filter with video clips. Lots of controllable parameters make this filter a really versatile tool.

Distort: Bumpmap with Image

Use Bumpmap with Image to distort the video-clip with a predefined image or another video-clip.

Distort: Cylinder

Use Cylinder to stretch a certain stripe of your clip. The stretched area can be vertical as well as horizontal.

Distort: Displace Point

Displace Point does pretty much the same compared to Bumpmap Point but is different in its handling.

Distort: Pond Ripple

Pond Ripple creates an effect similar to what you can see when you drop a stone into water. With the Speed slider you can define the speed of the automatically created movement of the ripples. Decay defines if the ripples should get weaker the further they move.

Additionally unwanted black borders can be cut.

Distort: Wave

Distort Wave creates a wave on the screen. The wave can move in a vertical as well as a horizontal direction. The speed, amplitude and wavelength can also be adjusted.

Matte: Matte Choker (Alpha-Channel)

This plugin is made to modify an existing alpha channel of images. It allows you to modify the gradient curve of the alpha channel just as if you manipulate the gamma curve of your image itself.

This plugin provides you with a highly enhanced quality and more functions compared to the original Matte Choker included of Final Cut Express.

An additional graph within the canvas shows the current manipulation curve. The position and size of the graph can also be defined.

Matte: Mask Shape

Mask Matte generates a rectangular or oval shape and uses it to create the desired matte.

Perspective: Curl

Curl creates the well known page-peel effect. The page can be either peeled or rolled. The ability of the Keyframe-collection to make this effect change over time, adds a whole lot of sense to this and all the other effects of the Keyframe-collection for Final Cut Express.

Of course the black borders of your clip can also be cut off with this plugin.

Key: Spill Suppressor

The Spill Suppressor removes unwanted reflections of a blue or green box on the actors or other objects.

This plugin also offers a greater functionality compared to the original plugin of Final Cut Pro and Final Cut Express.

Blur: Gaussian

This filter allows you to blur one or more selected channels of your videoclip. To the right you can see which channels can be blurred. Note that you can also blur each of the YUV channels separately.

In addition you can cut off unwanted pixels from the border of the clip. This is most useful if your clip has a black border, which would also be blurred and would create a darker area at the borders of the clip.

Blur: Radial

Radial Blur creates multiple shots of a rotating camera. You can define the rotation angle, the number of repetitions and the center of the rotation.

The borders can also be cut off with this filter to avoid unwanted black borders.

Color Corrector: RGB Balance

This plugin does way more than the originally included RGB Balance plugin of Final Cut Pro/Express. You can define for each color the Black level, Midtones and the Highlights separately. It is even possible to invert a channel while changing the gamma curve at the same time.

Border: Basic

Basic Border creates a border around your clip. You can define the width of the border, its aspect ratio, the color and its opacity. In addition you can soften the edges of the border.

Channel: Color Offset

This filter allows you to add or subtract a value to the red, green and blue color channel. Values above and below the valid area can either be wrapped around, inverted or simply clipped.

Channel: Channel Offset

Use this filter to add an positional offset to each channel of your video. You can use this filter to create special effects like moving each channel to a different direction out of the screen. Or you can make each channel appear from a different angle. The channels that leave the screen can either be wrapped around or create a transparent area.

Channel: Color Balance

Color Balance is very similar to Color Corrector: RGB Balance. The main difference is that Color Balance allows you to edit the values of the Blacks, Midtones and Highlights directly (absolute value handling) without touching the other parameters, while the controls of RGB Balance allow you to add a definable offset to the each value (relative value handling).

An additional graph within the canvas shows the current manipulation curve for each channel. The position and size of the graph can also be defined.

Image: Saturation

With this plugins you can edit precisely the saturation of your clips. With the Bezier slider you can even change the saturation without clipping bright and dark areas.

Additionally you can see a graph that shows the current manipulation curve.

Style: Diffuse

Diffuse distorts each pixel separately of your clip. You can control the Amount of the effect, the Direction and the Angle. In addition you can cut off unwanted black border, as they also would be distorted and would create dark areas at the borders.
With Repeat Edge you can tell the filter that the pixels on the border should be repeated. This is most useful to create a full screen effect without having dark or transparent areas at the borders.

With Random you can make the distortion static or chaotic. With Random turned off you can create an effect as if you look through a rippled window.

Distort: Bumpmap Point

Bumpmap Point is mostly the same filter as Bumpmap with Image except for the automatic generated internal bumpmap. Bumpmap Point distorts only one specific area of the video clip. Controllable are the position, range, direction and amount of the distortion. Overlay Luma adds a hot spot to the distorted area.

Distort: Displace with Image

With Displace with Image you can distort the pixels of your clip depending on the content of the applied clip or image. The Scale sliders define the strength and direction of the effect.

Distort: Fisheye

Fisheye creates the impression of looking through an adjustable lens. Adjustable are the Size and Center of the lens, as well as the Amount of the effect.

Distort: Ripple

Ripple applies ripples onto the whole clip. The ripples are automatically animated and can be manipulated in their amplitude, speed, direction and wave-length.

Additionally unwanted black borders can be cut.

Matte: 4 pt, 8 pt, 12 pt and 16 pt Garbage Matte

The Enhanced Essentials-collection also includes fur high quality garbage mattes with 4 points, 8 points, 12 points and 16 points!

The border quality of this garbage matte is greatly enhanced compared to the originally included garbage matte plugins of FCP and FCE. No pixilation does occur with the garbage mattes of the Enhanced Essentials-collection.

Matte: Extract

With this plugin you can extract a specific brightness-range and copy it either to the alpha-channel or to the RGB-channels. This makes it possible to make certain areas of the video clip transparent. Four different preview modes provide you with a convenient way to generate the needed matte. In addition the generated matte can be feathered.

An additional graph shows which brightness levels are used.

Perspective: Basic 3D

Basic 3D can be used to move a clip around within a virtual 3D-space. The quality of the borders of the animated clip is greatly enhanced compared to the originally included Basic 3D plugin of Final Cut Express.

Additionally the black borders of your clip also can be cut off to avoid that they will be seen while the clip moves around.
